I hated paying rent. To me, that’s like throwing money away when all that money for rent could have better use for a down payment on a house. Hope you can find better living arrangements soon.

Yup. Paying rent you get nothing back in the long term. With a home of your own, at least you’re getting a say in things and eventually building up equity, security, and peace of mind.Floki wrote:I'm sorry to hear that Mike. With mortgage rates what they are. Ill bet you can get a nice house for whay you pay in rent. My daughter and her fiance bought last summer. Brand new house from the builder with a great mortgage rate and they are even lower now

Yeah we're going to buy a house. We had actually planned on it last year till Covid ruined those plans. One thing is that since we're first time buyers there's all kinds of discounts and because I work for a fire department there's even more discounts. I just hate moving. We've already started going through things and getting rid of stuff that we don't want or need. And no, I'm not getting rid of anything model related.
