Well we need a better choice. SAC metal gear suck and are just a direct copy of the kit parts. The other companies don't have enough selection.Stikpusher wrote:I would guess that resin by itself is too brittle, especially at weight bearing stress points like the wheel axle/strut join. Those sets that John gets with metal cores and resin outer portions are ideal. But that is a very niche selection right now, like Moskit metal exhausts.

Finished with one set of wheels and stared the other. Also added the tie down anchors to the main gear legs.

Working on the next set of landing gear. This set has a lot more flash and the mold lines are really big. Lots of clean up to do.

Looks great! What’s your approach to cleaning up flash? I’m having an issue with struts on the Fokker where I could use some new better ideas. One hundred percent like what you are doing!

Just a beast of a landing gear on the F-18. Nice work.

Thanks guys! Bruce, I use a new #11 blade and carefully trim it off. Then I use a sanding stick and clean it up.speedgraflex wrote:Looks great! What’s your approach to cleaning up flash?
