Two coats over flat black. I think I’ll seal it with clear before trying to mask it.

Your getting it done Lyle. might be able to add a bit of paint to the area between the decal to hide the opening

Thanks, fellas. Not sure what I’ll do. There are additional checkerboard decals in those colors I may be able to use to patch. We’ll see.

That's actually what I did on my P-51. I just filled in the gaps with paint.
