Sounds like a lot of fun. What squadron has surfers on the tail?
Thanks,
John

Commemorative scheme on the tails? If they had decal set for that, I’d get the Osprey kit myself in a heartbeat.

It's HMM-268. Based at Kaneohe HI.
The other side is different (I'll post a pic later) blue and black with a dragon.
I'll also see if I can find the video with my buddy talking about a new weapon system mounted on the thing.

I can't find the video of my buddy talking about the GAU-17.

Here's some more of MV-22B 168322 from some that have been contributed to a group I belong to. It looks like many units like to use that big fin as a billboard.

That's a cool pic!!!

So, this is my good buddy.

Image

Believe it or not, he was the drummer in a band I joined 20 years ago...and his nickname was "Lunchbox"...on account of him being over 300lbs. He busted his hump, dropped the pounds and joined up.
Side story...he happened to be at Pensacola at the same time my bro was training for F-18's. They both also ended up at the same base in Iraq.
Doug (my buddy) was walking past my brothers squadrons hanger and recognized the music being played in there. He said it took him a minute...."THAT'S ME"!!!
I had given my bro a copy of our cd.
Anyway, Doug started out in CH-46's (got transferred to 22's after coming home from Iraq). I build a model of his "Phrog"...

Image

It just so happened, that he ended up having the same pilot (each had gone to different squadrons after Iraq).
Hard to read on the model...but it's the same dude!

Image

Doug has the "nose art" panel hanging in his garage. (Someone at FSM helped me with the decal)

...Now...back to the regularly scheduled program!

That black and yellow tail is bold and catchy.
Given the choices, that one jumped out....until I saw the stag! (166)
