Started on this one a while back, Trumpeter's 32nd Me 262A-1a. This is my first Trump aircraft kit and all the reviews say its a great kit and the detail looks amazing.

Image

I'll be adding Eduard PE, HGW belts, metal barrels from Aber, resin wheels and EagleCal decals.

I have been getting the interiour together ready for priming and painting. These are mainly cockpit parts.

The guns together along with the metal barrels.

The inside of the fuselage with the none coloured PE added.

Image

And some more interior parts along with the gun bat and undercarrage bay parts.

Image

This was followed by primer and paint. Got the cockpit finished up. The IP is all Eduard. I know the RLM 66 is a bit off on these sets, but i still really like thyem, certainly better than i could paint.

And the rest of the Pit. Here you can see the differance in colour between the Eduard PE and what i painted. Seatbelts are HGW, love these things.

And the gun bay was finished off minus the wiring. The bay and guns were all done with Alclad.

Image

Got the top part of the pit fitted after fitting the IP. I wired up the back of the IP based on some pics of a build of these kit i found online. I could find any pics of the back of the real thing.

And then got all in inside parts of the fuselage fited, including the compass at the rear and camera at the front.

And got the fuselage together.

Well, Martin, I'm here to warn you that's not going to fit on your normal size base. Maybe you can put one under each wheel.

Thanks.
No, not the normal sort of base for this. But its actually not as big as i expected. I thought this would be my biggest 32nd to date, but its a tad smaller than my Stuka.

Excellent work Bish! Cockpit looks good and is already secured within the fuselage! Just curious... it looks like you removed one of the two mounting tabs on either side of the fuselage interior? Did the instructions for the PE set call out for that?

Thanks kim. No, it didn't suggest that, but i did think they might get in the way. In the end they didn't, but then the 2 on each side are not needed as the pit is also secured both front and rear by the bulkheads.

I used the Aires cockpit tub on my Trumpy 262 build but when I was pre-fitting the kit cockpit, I also noticed that those four tabs were not necessary for attachment. It's a good kit but needs some work to close up the nose panels, if you go that route.
