The add ons improve the base 100%

They will, once the ground cover gets added in. Right now, it just looks dumb!Stikpusher wrote:The add ons improve the base 100%
Moving along...took the base out to the garage and cut a base...for the base. This will make handling a lot easier when it comes to doing the ground cover...plus, it'll give it a nice finishing touch.
Traced around the base for the rough shape...jig saw and a router took care of the rest.
Some cherry stain...
Now...I wait.

All it takes is paying attention and having a bit of respect for what could happen.
Complacency will rob you of digits and/or kill you!

You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

2nd best feeling after completing a model is making something from wood. That's why I can't build plastic in the garage. Too much sawdustStikpusher wrote:You wood shop guys... Still got all your fingers?

"Carpenter" is a word for those far more skilled than I am.scorpiomikey wrote:Never trust a carpenter with all his fingers.Fermis wrote: Yes'sir!

I am but a lowly "work worker"
Much like laying brick...there's "brick layers", then there's "masons".
Re: Neuschwanstein Castle
Got the base mounted on the plaque base, buildings secured...
Ready to move ahead with the ground work.
The kit give you this...
Uhhhh....no thanks!
I swung by Michaels today, while I was out and picked up a pack of happy little trees and "grass". The rest I already had.
The flock grass is a bit much for the grassy area by the entrance, but should work just fine around the rest of it.

Re: Neuschwanstein Castle
Now that you purchased some "grass" the rest of the build should be a smooth runnin' affair.

Yes'sir...just about there!mostrich wrote:Now that you purchased some "grass" the rest of the build should be a smooth runnin' affair.
On with the groundwork.
I covered the base with the flocking...like so...
I used a "Fall blend" of trees...from Woodland Scenics, as well as some other stuff.
Have this one side just about wrapped up...
