"Scotland the Brave"

Post by tigrazor »

hi all,

got this figure as a present long time ago and a friend (who visits England every year) asked me if I could paint it on commission for her. I have no clue where this figure is from or whats scale, to be honest.

But hey, I cant help it - lets do this already for that friend. ;) I decided for a "Black Watch" scheme.

Your flesh tone skills are very lifelike!

Thank you. In most cases I use Vallejo Panzer Aces colors for that. With a little touch of red (thin layers on cheeks), plus some lightened base color. Important thing is that you use really thin layers. Afterwards a little bit of brown washings, and thats all the magic.

I'm glad that you are here to help those of us whose figure painting skills are wanting... :bag:

Todays work. Red uniform jacket, hair, plaid and even some chequers for the head. All painted in acrylics as usual, main color is Light Red from Vallejo, the black/white primer helps a lot here.

I am really interested to see how the kilt goes. That is something I certainly need schooling on. Doing patterns that are not camouflage. :hmm:
