Not too much done to the planes last night. Had some time with our daughter and granddaughter. I was ble to go to the hobby room for a few minutes before bed and attach the last of the PE to the 8 Kates. Tonight I'll start painting the Kates and continue on the 5 Zeeks.
There's a Hobby Town contest this Saturday and I'll take the Akagi down as is, with the smoke of course but without a Chrysanthemum, not that anyone will notice. There's not a historian among them. I'm waiting for a PE set of Chrysanthemums to replace the blob of plastic supplied in the kit. It's actually not that bad but I figure a PE set will look better, besides, I can use the rest on other IJN ships

Thank you Stuart.
I painted the Kates last night and tonight will add the black cowls, metallic blue wheel wells and black gear. I'll spray some clear and add decals and weathering, if possible. Once that's done I should be able to call them done and start over on the next 12.
Here's the light smoke.

That looks incredible!
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Thank you Floki.
I got quite a bit done on the planes last night. The black cowls, gear, wells and weathering. Tonight I hope to work on the prop spin as well as getting some clear coat and decals on.

I think it's all been said by our SPAM comrades. Just an outstanding build from keel to crow's nest. Makes history come alive.

Thanks so much guys!
I worked hours on the planes and have the 12 done where I like them. Some have maintenance personnel in the cockpit monitoring the gages and other tasks. I'm missing the bombs which I'll build up tonight. Going on week three for these aircraft. Hopefully I'll speed up some.
I added some prop spin both idle and running at a higher RPM.
