1/48 Fruehauf Fuel Trailer and Diamond T Truck
Re: 1/48 Fruehauf Fuel Trailer and Diamond T Truck
interesting mash-up. So that tanker tank goes on the dump truck chassis or the dump truck cab goes on the tanker?
Thanks,
John

The dump body will end up somewhere else, John, maybe a Tamiya GMC CCKW 353. I am lengthening the frame of the truck and it will have a fifth wheel for the semitrailer to attach to, as in the b/w picture, although the truck in that photo is a Federal and I'm using the Diamond T which has the same load capacity as the Federal.

Ahhh yes. I see the 5th wheel now. That should be a slam dunk!
Thanks,
John

Re: 1/48 Fruehauf Fuel Trailer and Diamond T Truck
Finally made some more progress on this one. It was a lot of work to get the frame right as it had some warps in the middle. All 18 wheels are on the ground. The Brits like bigger cabs than we did in the day, apparently. As I said before, it looks like you could have a party in that Albion cab. The Diamond T cab is about the same size as the GMC 2 1/2 ton trucks, but the Diamond T has a lot bigger hood, fenders, and other such stuff.

Impressive. Well .done. Neat, and ,all that.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
