New at hobby lobby

Post by Floki »

Went to hobby lobby to pick up some casting resin. While going down the ever shrinking model aisle I noticed a lot more gundam stuff now. But found a wonderful surprise, they no longer are selling Tamiya primer but instead had Mr. Hobby 1000 and my favorite Mr. Super clear flat. Also seen a few more random Mr. Hobby products too.

Interesting. I wonder if they’re replacing Tamiya products with Gunze products? :hmm:

I noticed that there was a lot of the Gundam stuff including the paint markers.

I was wondering that, they didn't have any Tamiya tape or liquid cement. Also only seen one Tamiya kit, the old walker bulldog.

Hell, I'd rather see Humbrol or Revell paints once Model Master is gone. Tamiya and Gunze would be nice too.

Looks like they are trying to search for a different type of buyer. I'm pretty much an auto modeler now but dang.....that's pretty much all they've carried. A few ship models, a few more aircraft models, Star Wars stuff and a whole frickin' WALL of auto models. That's great for folks like myself but what about the rest of the folks who don't get online much and just want to build something other than a car or truck? :hmm:
Interesting about the primer and while it is cool and all....I'll be sticking to my Tamiya primer.

I'll end up giving the Mr. Surfacer a try, I've only heard good things about it. Can still get it at the LHS if nothing else and since HL aren't doing the 40% any more it would be the same price. At least at this HL the Bandai Star Wars kits are down to a handful would like to see more again

Just went to HL and there's no Tamiya anything. Glad I stocked up when I did.

Wait...your local HL open on Sundays? Ours closes on Sundays because of “religious reasons and for all to spend time with family”. :bored:
