Stuart's Warhammer 40K rediscovery Thread...
Re: Stuart's Warhammer 40K rediscovery Thread...
I'm mostly a painter but I do have an Ork Army I play now and again. I lose mostly but I have fun. I'm better at painting.
Now that we know that.... What have we learned?...

Cool! I don't play that much either, but it's fun to have the option - I have some of the solo play board games from the 80's.
I've spent a bit of time working on an old 2nd edition set of Space Marines, in between sanding and filling on the Tornados. trying to get that 90's 'eavy metal vibe. I've progressed the sergeant a bit - I'm still working on the armour highlights and chainsword, but it's the first time I've ever painted a face and tried to do eyes - what do you think? (actually its the first time I've tried this sort of highlighting too, I've got to tidy up the base and mid tone on the blue, and then add the top highlights)
Cheers!

Looking good brother. Keep plugging away and someday an army will emerge. At least that's what I tell myself.

Thanks DL!
Lol, Yeah I can imagine - I'd just be happy to paint to a standard I'm reasonably happy with.

Just getting ANY Warhammer piece painted should be considered a victory. I always aim above the target, and if it falls somewhere in between I figure I'm good.

All of these look awesome so far! Way to go on those painting schemes too.
I have a few Battletech miniatures to paint, I should get on them.

You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Lol - I'd agree with that - I'm amazed how many hours you can sink into a single miniature to even get it to a basic level!Dragline wrote:Just getting ANY Warhammer piece painted should be considered a victory. I always aim above the target, and if it falls somewhere in between I figure I'm good.

Re: Stuart's Warhammer 40K rediscovery Thread...
I had a peak into a local gaming shop the other day, I was kinda interested in trying it out. I expected perhaps $10 for a figure, extra for paints obviously. I was afraid for my wallet as I saw the real prices...
So I quickly thanked the man there and went about my business.
