Interior assembled...

Red painted on sides. I used Guards Red.

An unexpected paint peeled off. I got too impatient pulling the masking tape off instead of waiting a little longer. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Oh well, it'll be an easy fix.

It's not that hard to do. I laid down the base color - gloss white.

Next I did the roof, masking where it ends then mask the rest of the car.

Last, mask for the red then mask the rest of the car.

Disaster struck last night... sprayed a coat of clear gloss (rattlecan) outdoors, brought in the garage to dry.

Later on that evening, I brought it downstairs to resume it. Yup.... orange peel on all four corners. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

My theory.... rattlecan was in sort of cold garage, outdoor temps in low 50s. I spent at least 20 minutes sanding off the orange peel.

This is the worse damage - the trunk deck area...

This is the minimalistic orange peel damage... front corner

Oh it doesn't end here.... I can't seem to find the decal sheet set that came with the kit. I spent an hour looking for it. I know I had it but it escaped me where I may have misplaced it. If I can't locate it. I'll hold out hope finding a set at Syrcon 2023 in a couple weeks. We'll see...

Aw man, that is the suck! I hate when stuff like that happens, but don't worry, she'll be apples again with a little work. I once melted little divots into a Harrier paint job with rattlecan Glosscoat lacquer and I did by getting in a hurry then too. Good luck with the repair!
