I’d just go with a lighter gray. Use the same gray, but with a few drops of white added to lighten it up.

Looks like that’s the next step for me. Good thing I got a couple plastic spoons painted for me to experiment on mixing a few drops of white to the German Grey.

I sprayed a lighter shade of German Grey with several drops of white mixed in. The result I'm happy with.

Next, I'm deciding which black to use on the rubber portion on the road wheels...

Tamiya makes a Rubber Black now... or go with that Weathered Black. You want enough contrast to be noticeable.

I had been looking to use weathered black after seeing the samples dried. I use that black for painting invasion stripes on my P-47 Thunderbolt kit.

Thank you. Now I’ve got to research colors to use for various items on tank... shovel blade and handle, stowage, etc...

The tools are usually painted metal and varnished wood. But of course they wear to bare surfaces with use. The metal parts can be olivgrau RAL 6006, or black when new.

I have sworn black that I like. Sure isn’t like the old days...flat black.
