I use a heated nail or screw for the same technique.BsYamato wrote:Nicely done Miss OWL
A tip (dangerous!!) if you want to tense the loose wiring as you used stretched sprue... pick a piece of sprue , flame it, blow out the flame and gently move it near the wiring , about 3/4 millimeter and waith till the wire going on right tension repeat the flaming/blow out till the wires are all correct

I wrapped hair around the posts...a tiny dab of super glue held things in place

Tx BsY, that's a good tip, to heat the streched sprue carefully !BsYamato wrote:Nicely done Miss OWL

Ok. Now I'm just jealous. First you build tiny airplanes that make my eyes cross. Then you build a tiny biplane?????
I have a 1/32 Wingnut Albatros D.v on my shelf because it started driving me bonkers. And that was 1/32!!!!!
Very impressive work, especially the internal rib structure to the cockpit
I never will be able to pull off the melted sprue thing. I either set it on fire or burn the snot out of my fingers.
Excellent work

Re: Albatross D.iii, 1/72
sooo, we a had a couple of contests this past month; one just for the club meeting, and another where we traveled down to Leavenworth, Kansas.
MY LITTLE BIRDIE WON AWARDS!! Holy cow!
First up, was a monthly contest for the IPMS meeting: Remembering the Great War. I entered both my tank/trench dio and the biplane. Anonymous judging was used, and I took home both first and second places! How cool is that??
Then I headed down to KS with some other club members, and entered in my albatross among stiff competition. Wonderful models in all the categories! With a dozen or so other biplanes on display, I didnt think my little Albatross would stand a chance...
apparently the look on my face was PRICELESS. Whaaa?
I officially have an award-winning model!
