Got some "yaller" (yellow for you non-Southerners) on this. I'll likely rub it down a bit with 0000 steel wool (a no-no in some circles) and hit it again.
This wasn't to my liking, so I sanded it out, hit it with white primer and will try again.
Oh, I also used Model Master Acrylic.....

Another fine looking build Lyle - you've got over the hiccup with the nacelles in short order.

Thanks, Stuart. I guess this is one time the Minicraft plastic worked in my favor. Trying to get it ready for a coat of black...then silver.portman wrote:Another fine looking build Lyle - you've got over the hiccup with the nacelles in short order.

The yaller picture gives a good impression of how large those radials have been in comparison to the slim fuselage!
(Yaller? Really?? I would need half of bottle of Yukon Jack for this... )

Yep, those are two BIG holes in the front of this thing. Put the black on yesterday morning, used Rust-oleum gloss black enamel. Took a full 24 hours or so to dry enough. Today? we do silver. Question is, Alclad Aircraft Aluminum or rattle can metallic?Thomas_M wrote:The yaller picture gives a good impression of how large those radials have been in comparison to the slim fuselage!

sigh. lack of patience. fingerprints. bad eyes - now having to remask and try to touch up. ....priceless.
This is the Alclad Aircraft Aluminum. May go back with just the Alclad Aluminum.

What has happened, Lyle? Maybe the gloss wasn´t fully dried up?
Re: MiniCraft 1/48 X5F-1
I don't know. Seemed dry. Anyway, we will try again.Thomas_M wrote:What has happened, Lyle? Maybe the gloss wasn´t fully dried up?
