After X comes Y. Rarely seen such a well engineered kit - its a pure joy and you dont even need glue for it in most cases and it literally "falls together".

Looking forward to the paint. So far the kit is completed, and the cockpit & figures got some paint. Only addition for the cockpit are some spare PE belts.

Have fun, Lucas. I have this kit, too, and from looking into the box it's a gem of Japanese engineering.

Every time I see your figures painted I just want to box up and send you all of mine! Beautiful work, Lucas. All the best...

Thank you!

The Y-Wing got its black primer with Gun Metal. Next stop: Hairsparay + white.

Hullo! I really appreciate the black metal base finish. This will subtly transform the exterior!

Re cockpit

1. What is the black color?
2. What is the red?
3. What is the silver?

Thanks in advance!

Black >> Tamiya Flat Black
Rear cockpit >> Vallejo Gun Metal (acrylic) + GW Nuln Oil (=black) washing, so are the side panels
Red >> ummm... cant remember, sorry. Just white as first step and a bright red help, or a darker variant of it as final layer.

Thanks so much for the data, Lucas. That is incredibly helpful. I am looking forward to the color coats very much. And... your R2-D2 mug is badass!

Youre welcome!

Nothing beats a cup of hot cocoa on the work bench on a cold stormy day in November. Except there coffee inside.

:drum:

Truth about cocoa and-or coffee on a cold day. You know the kind of weather L.A. serves us; right now it is 19 degrees Celsius (67 degrees Fahrenheit), the sun is reflecting off the windows of ten thousand cars heading for the ocean. I miss European light, though! The grass is always greener and the roads in Germany are the cleanest and most well maintained I have yet seen.
