I finally started for this HB. This is the Hasegawa Mil Mi-24 Hinad A. It is a mid eighties kit so the information that Hasegawa had wasn't that good. Most glaring mistake: a 3 person cockpit! It should be two!
I am not resolving all accuracy issues but this one has to be addressed.
Out came the knives and evergreen styrene.

Is this the one with the angle canopy, and not the twin bubble canopy?

Yes, this is indeed the one with the big greenhouse. Hasegawa had false information in during the Cold War and made it a three seater (there is enough space for that). We now know that it was a two seater.

Well the Soviets were pretty secretive on things right up until the end. Unlike western aerospace companies, they did not share all their products with the press and general public. With few exceptions, most Western aircraft and other hardware were displayed for all to see at open houses, air shows, etc.

I found a Czech modelling magazine in my archive with an article on the Hind A. So I couldn't resist to ad some wiring and overhead consoles. It always funny. I start and think " let's build a Hasegawa kit, quality, nice straight out of the box, no fuzz." But then....
But because of the greenhouse canopy I think it will be worth it. I am not opening the back doors so my scratch building will be limited to the cockpit.

Thanks for the memories. I built this one way back when; mine has three crew in it because back then I never knew it only had two. I'm enjoying your work so far. Keep going, this is looking fantastic!
