Hi all.
I started the Nell.
The kit’s interior is typical of Hasegawa’s other 1/72 offerings. There isn’t a lot of detail and because of the large greenhouses, it would benefit from some AM or scratchbuilt enhancements. I going to build OOB but will add some interest such as belts and plumbing. The instructions take some time to figure out, such as the option to show the build with or without the gun in the turret and why one should remove the tabs on the bulkheads because of it. However, after some study it becomes clear. What isn’t clear is where to place part E8 on the left fuselage wall. There doesn’t seem to be any guide of any kind. I went with my best guess as don't think it's really going to matter once it's closed up.
The kit looks to build up quickly once the interior is complete.

Part E8 is shown in both of your manual pictures. I would refer at its placement between the seats, and look out for a suitable position on the side wall.

I got a little more done on the Nell. The fuselage went together surprisingly well. With all the items on the inside I felt I would have had some seam problems, but there were no issues. The wings went on easily too. They have a locking system that creates a positive connection and minimizes the seam.
Now that the fuselage is together and wings are on, getting to the painting stage will be quick. I am still deciding if I want to hand paint the canopy and green houses or mask them. Hand painting would be easier but trying too match the paint and hide the seam never works out for me.

You’re a brave soul if you’re going to try to hand paint window framing without masking. I tried that on my Hurricane and was less than pleased with the results. Masking may take time, but it’s worth the efforts.

Thanks Stick, I defiantly leaning toward masking. My hand painting jobs are usually adequate but.....

Eduard doesn´t offer a set of masks? How about thin stripes of Tamyia yellow tape to mask the windows?

I'm going to go with liquid masking. It's worked great for me with just a small amount of cleanup, which is easy with acrylics.
