My pleasure, Kari! I like Zvezda’s details on the radio unit (for what my thoughts are worth, hmm) but is the rest of the dash an empty slab, with decals or PE for details? What is really cool about the second link’s photo are all the interior details. Many of these translate to the smaller version I am building, so I thank you warmly for the new information!

I’m sorry I missed this! Construction on your half track is looking real good so far, and your cat is adorable too!

Thanks Kenny, I can imagine there is pretty much to catch-up still for you!

Thanks Bruce, indeed, the dash is very ascetic. There are decals to detail it up, not the best of the best quality, but will do...

Happy the links gave you also some new information!

Kari,

I thought I responded. Forgive me! I think the decals look good. Thank you for posting an image. I have been buried in making the Maybach HL 42 fit the engine compartment and I need to pop up and see what else is happening here! Is the faceplate of the radio (and the sides visible) a slightly different color?

Thanks Bruce!
The radio box, as the entire drivers compartment with a layer of RLM66, in other words "Black grey". I think it's just the angle of light that highlights the box and that's why it looks slightly different..

BUT, some more work done today...

The decal attached...
Image

And then first time ever I tried to imitate wood.. Started with a layer, brushed, of Tamiyas XF-60 "Dark yellow"
Image

After 15 minutes I added a good chunky layer of "Burnt Umber" oil paint...

Image

Letting in dry/ cure for roughly 10 minutes... And then started the exciting moment, with a pretty stiff brush "brushing it off"..

Image

Very quickly (and easy) the benches started to look like wood!

I must say, I was and I am still, pretty impressed how easily the looks of wood can be achieved.

Let's see what next!

Hi Kari,

Just caught up - fantastic work thus far my friend and I agree with everyone else in regards to your cat - beautiful.

It's great to see you building some armor and like Kenny, if you weren't you are now officially entered into the SPAM Armor group build!

Cheers!

Some work with the "drivers office"..
Added the steering wheel, some other details, painted, drybrushed and weathered a little bit.

Not-at-all satisfied with the leather seat, does look more like wood than leather.. :bag:
Reason I opened another thread regarding how to paint realistic leather imitation... :hmm:

Image

I need also to figure out how to reduce the very bright, white color of the the gauge on the instrument panel. It looks way too white and does not look at all good..
