Paying vehicle registration is not being a nanny... but the over the top registration fees and rates are definitely a tax based strictly upon vehicle value. The processing costs exactly the same for an old beater or high end vehicle, yet that is exactly how CA bases registration fees.

Not what I'm referencing. Paying for vehicle registration is a given. If they sticking a little extra high fees for certain things for tax revenues is crazy. We're all being taxed to death with school tax, city/town/village tax, county tax, and everything in between.

CA is sticking extra high fees on everything. But not returning it to the tax paying productive citizens. “Redistribution of wealth”. And the middle class is starting to flee the state in droves. In the not too distant future it will be Lords and serfs there.

I didn't know that about the six month thing but I'm not surprised by it either. So far we're all good down here because 90% of the state inspectors out there don't know what the heck they're looking at in terms of old school vehicles. I still know a few guys though.

Alright gang, I got a very light coat RLM 76 applied to the bottom of the aircraft this morning.

Your 262 is looking good. The RLM 76 went on great.

One final thing about the unregistered vehicle and I’ll be done. It’s a vehicle code section regarding expired registration over 6 months, 22651(o) V.C. Every street cop and parking enforcement officer knows it. It’s not just for DMV vehicle inspectors. For street cops it is one of the “keys to the castle” and the easiest way to search a vehicle for drugs, weapons, or other contraband- vehicle stopped for expired tags over six months, vehicle stored. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officer finds xxxx, and driver arrested. I did it many times. It’s also a problem solver. A mouthy driver can talk themselves from a warning into ticket and stored vehicle and possibly jail if they have something illegal in the vehicle or warrants. At least, so I have heard... And stolen or false tags to conceal the expired tags on a vehicle is a felony. :nono:

Looks just like your model car builds! Beautiful work.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
