Nice work on painting it. Those decals look cool.

Glad you found the paint you needed, I've been trying to get some Mr. Leveling thinner and finally found a place that had it who didn't have the price jacked way up on it.
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

This shop has not done that as far as I can tell.

It's looking like a proper Mustang now, Lyle! Have you ever tried Alclad metal finishes? Tamiya AS-12 is fairly smooth but you still get some grain. Alclad metal finishes are grain-free.

I have a couple. Not sure why I don’t use them.

Nowhere near what others are doing right now...but, moving a bit forward. I feel completely disconnected from this kit right now. Can't explain it. Started on the decals and realized I had not painted the anti-glare panel. Duh.....See what I mean? Got it painted and then realized I have to paint and stripe the spinner. Yikes. Black is on.

Added the checkerboard to the upper cowling so that I could see how the anti-glare panel and the decals matched up front to back. I think I managed to get enough OD painted. The checkerboard decals did have some bunching where the cowl narrows at the front. Some Solvaset took care of most of it and another dose or two will make 'em lay down like the Cowboys in a playoff game.
