You could also try the older Revell Fletcher Class destroyer kit. It’s around 1/300 scale (box scale), so is a bit bigger kit. You can get 3-D printed stuff off of Shapeways to improve it. There are also some newer larger scale Fletcher class kits put out by Revell Germany if you want an impressively sized BIG model. I do believe that at least one is offered in a postwar fit as a West German navy boxing.Modelcrazy wrote:Nice job on that old gal.
The Courtney was a Dealey class 56 -73
The Wadleigh was a Fletcher class, I believe a square bridge design so the "The Sullivans" would work. If it was a round bridge design, the Tamiya kit would fit.

Yup. I knew Courtney was a Dealey class destroyer escort and Wadleigh was a Fletcher class destroyer since I asked my dad about them long before he went in the nursing home. Sadly, he passed away in 2017.Modelcrazy wrote:Nice job on that old gal.

I remember the older Fletcher destroyer kit by Revell. That kit gave a choice to build 1 of 3 destroyers... Fletcher, Sullivsns, and I forget the 3rd. Kit was from 1974 according to scalemates.Stikpusher wrote:You could also try the older Revell Fletcher Class destroyer kit. It’s around 1/300 scale (box scale), so is a bit bigger kit. USS Radford was another boxing. I built that one a LONG time ago...

That’s the third option.... USS Redford! 1976 Revell kit, not 1974.

Beautiful job on that venerable old kit Tom! Brilliantly done. I look forward to seeing your destroyer started.

This inspires me to try a ship. I looked at the Artisania wooden ships and decided that may be a route to take.
This is a beautiful example of what can be done with skills. Very nicely done Sir.
