Fury dio build

Post by Brandons_Iron »

I thought I might go ahead and bring you guys along for this ride. I am currently working on a Fury Diorama build that will have Fury, its crew, a dead Tiger I and some dead German tank crew. I may toss in some infantry as well. It is 1/35 as well, so not small.

The tank is a Tamiya M4A3E8 with a Fury correction set and a full set of Legend Fury crew members. I have been painting them and the stowage and I have a ways to go. Today I painted the tank itself. I began with olive drab followed by black for the camo. But, once that was on I felt it was far too light for the movie tank, so I overshot the whole thing with German camo dark green to get it to darken up and blend the camo in some. It will darken even more when I weather it up. But, for now I'm happy where it's at. Plenty left to do on this and still all the rest. OOFTA, this is a big build. I intend to complete this all this year. I hope to have the Sherman done in the coming weeks. Then on to the Tiger I.

Oh, and the kit tracks are not the correct ones for Fury, so those have been changed to make them correct. I forget which ones they are.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.

Cool stuff Brandon. Looks like it's coming along nicely. Will be watching this one!

That movie rattled me. This will be awesome.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks guys, I appreciate the enthusiasm.

Quick update. I now have north of 20 hours in painting stowage, tools, etc. Barely started the figures, but they are next. Probably decals tomorrow after an application of oils. That will take a few hours minimum. Not real fast process but I am liking it more and more.
