Next Project with my youngest son -- The Tamiya 1/48 Zeke. Note the hot cocoa.

Excellent!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Looks like he is all set! Got his cocoa and a model to work on.... good times!

That's awesome! I hope he enjoys it - you should get him watching Tora Tora Tora.

I'd treasure these times if I were you, you're lucky, I was never able to do anything like this with my son due to his Autism and my daughter was never really interested.

Man I fancy a hot chocolate now

Thanks Stuart. I know what you are saying. I have 4 kids. I have built models with them all at least once. My two older ones (late teens) are not interested any longer. Of my two younger ones, John is the most likely to stick with it. He is artistic. Loves coloring, puzzles, etc.. he pays attention when you show him something, like how to brush paint, clean a brush, or trim parts off the sprue... My other younger boy (who is older than Joh BTW) wants to build, but does not have the patience and does not like to focus on the task at hand for lengthy periods of time. As Yoda would say, "A long time have a watched this one. Never is his mind on where he is, what eh is doing, hmmmm"... So, the model-building-force is strongest with John... but , difficult to see , the future is...

Look at him… hard at work on a model kit. Reminds me so much of me at his age. LOL!

That's awesome. He will love it and then find other things to take up his time. AND then later in life will fall back in love with it once again just like we all have. Great stuff!!!

That's great that one of them is getting into it though, even if, as Brandon says, he does it for a while and then moves onto other things, he's more likely to go back to it later, especially if he has some good memory's doing it with his Dad!
