Re: Some Bandai Star Wars builds...

Nice collection of Star Wars kits! Also what Mostrich said about the Bandai kits from Amazon if you're looking for more. I ordered a few from a Japanese reseller there and they made it stateside in about two weeks, well packaged too. Bandai announced an A-Wing and a Death Star laser cannon in 1/72 f...

Re: Bandai 1/48 AT-ST

Looking good, Muzzy! Now add Chewie in the turrent when he hijacked it on Return of the Jedi. LOL! Hey thanks BlackSheep. They actually have a Chewie figure in the box posed for just that. Along with an alternate hatch part if you want to pose it open. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1605/2542729292...

:that: What BlackSheep said.

I'd swear those are real wood props you used. Really like the color scheme you used on the Eduard kit too.

Re: Bandai 1/48 AT-ST

Getting close do done. I used some white paint to add just a few paint chips here and there and gave everything a flat coat. I also took some liberties painting the weapons. All the photos I looked at showed pretty much everything in grey, but I painted the main guns gun metal and dry brushed them w...

Wow, fantastic work with the paint job on it. I can't believe how your able to detail a cockpit that small too.

Re: Bandai 1/48 AT-ST

Thanks Duke. I've tried a few techniques I haven't done before on this. I can think of a few things I could have done better already, but I guess who doesn't when building a kit. Should be able to wrap this one up this weekend.

Re: Bandai 1/48 AT-ST

More progress. I used some chalk pastels to make up a dark gray wash. I usually use oil paints and mineral spirits for washes. First time I've tried using chalk pastels but looks like it came out decent. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1604/24530569473_6f5996b81a_c.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/...

Re: 1/48 Testors Nieuport Type 17 C.1

Great bi-planes! I like the guitar string for the rigging. I have a Nikon D3200 which is similar to your D3300. I use mine mostly outdoors too for my fishing and backpacking trips. I'm no photography guru, but one tip I can give you for shooting your models is try setting the camera on aperture prio...

Re: Bandai 1/48 AT-ST

Thanks Lyle and Duke. I used some Winsor & Newton Winton oil paint for this along with klean strip odorless mineral spirits over two coats of future. No ill effects on the plastic yet. Thanks for the tip on the Mona Lisa thinner I'll check it out. When it comes time for a wash I think I'm going ...

Re: MiniCraft 1/48 X5F-1

Nice thinking on the cowl ring Lyle. It came out looking good. Looking at the final pic you can't even tell how bad the alignment was on the unmodified part. Well done!
