1/72 Airfix Bf 109-E3

Well, what can I say about this little gem? It has a nice bit of basic detail in the pit. The fuse is on the thick side however, and the sights sit a tad on the low side under the wind screen. There's room for some improvement there. The pilot sits low as if there is no chute under him. I carefully ...

Hi MC! Looking good so far, as usual. Are you going to use the pilot too? :D

Re: 1/48 Airfix P-40B

That's pretty much right out of the box too. I modified the throttle and the window crank away from the sidewalls and modified the pilot with a twisted wire O2 hose, modified jacket (no Mae West), and lifted him about 3mm up to simulate the height he should be at with a chute under him. That led to ...

Re: 1/48 Airfix P-40B

Thanks, John! I didn't know that would make a difference. I'm going to go try it real quick. :)

Edit: Holy crap, man! I didn't know you could do that just by unabbreviating the image tag! Thanks, John! :D

1/48 Airfix P-40B

As requested. :) I've been slowly working on this one quietly in the background of my other builds since February. I've been finding it very enlightening to see the differences between the old Monogram/Revell (Monovell) P-40B and this new one. Its like night and day to compare these two kits! The ne...

Mikey's Monovell P-40

I completed this model for a group build contest on Genessis Models about a month ago. 95% orriginal parts usage with a lot of scratch building in the pit and some on the wheel bays. This is my favorite Aircraft and I am also in the process of building the new Airfix P-40B in the AVG markings. The m...
