Re: Procrastination in modelling...

It's a hobby Stuart. Just have fun. That's all it's about. There should not any pressure or need to 'keep up' with the other guy. There should not be a completed kit at the end of every rainbow, just a pot filled with relaxation, fun and friends. I have the Tamiya F-14A as well. Would love to start ...

Re: Monogram 1:48 F-14A (IW)

Re: F-16AB Viper, Luke AFB

Cool, a family model! Are the markings the standard subdued USAF markings or will they be of the more flamboyant variety?

Re: Monogram 1:48 F-14A (IW)

The nose wheels on this kit are pretty fun to clean up. Not only is there a ton of flash and ejector pins to deal with, but the mold halves did not quite line up, so there is a positive or negative step to the tread depending on where you are looking. After fixing them, it's a good idea to check if...

Re: Hasegawa 1/72 F-111E 'Lybian Raider'

Agree Stuart. I have never had a shake and bake Hasegawa kit -- except perhaps their 1/48 109 series, which still had some issues, albeit minor, with the nose gun cover fit. Now I know they have improved since the 90's, but that has been my experience. Hopefully you have passed the major hurdles in ...

Re: Monogram 1:48 F-14A (IW)

I got a set of red acrylic paint markers off of Amazon. The brand is called "Overseas"... They differ from the AK markers in that they have a pointy end and a dome/half circle shaped applicator at the other end. I found to my delight that the dome end does a beautiful job applying consiste...

First—Happy Easter to all my Christian friends! ... Chris—I thank you for following along. I am learning a lot from your approach to your Monogram jet fighter project. It does showcase how much trial and error is involved in correcting mold design simplifications; the errors and omissions that cree...
