Re: Zvesda 1/72 Tupolev I-4
And it is done! I have used Art Scale 3d printed spoked wheels, a fabulous product. I also added a few wires. As a comparison I included pics with the ANT-5 prototype and with a Polikarpov I-5 also flown by I. Pavlov. All in all a fun build, as I wished John would have had with the kit in his stash....

Re: Zvesda 1/72 Tupolev I-4
The decals are on. I used microsol and set to get it into the corrugations. One decal teared and the set made a few holes so I didn’t push my luck to get them in deeper. The color is a bit off when compared to the tail so I might adjust with a wash. https://i.postimg.cc/FzbxdR1y/IMG-5510.jpg https:/...

Re: Zvesda 1/72 Tupolev I-4
Thanks guys. I have put a wash on to tone the shine a bit down and to add shading. I have also bought 3D printed spoked wheels. These things are incredible. I will post some pics of those shortly. I have to figure out a way to attach them. I will probably have to make an brass or steel axle. https:/...

Re: Zvesda 1/72 Tupolev I-4
A little progress report. The tail was primed pink (mr Surfacer 1500 Pink) then painted red (Humbrol enamel 19). I masked the whole tail. The profile show a smaller portion but if I look at the picture of Pavlov’s crashed I-4 I see the whole tail red. Pictures before profiles. After masking I primed...

Re: Zvesda 1/72 Tupolev I-4
Wheels aren’t in yet but I did modify the cover to have the exposed cilinders. This was quite a chore. At first I lost one of the modified cover to the carpet monster (even though I have no carpet in my room!). Fortunately I had spare parts from an ANT-5 I have build before. That is why the top cove...
