Re: Procrastination in modelling...

I was going to add something that happened here. I was struggling to find a way to finish anything and wrote to Thomas asking for advice. He wrote back if you’re feeling burnt out try building something completely different. Since you tackled aircraft, armor and figures that leaves you with cars, t...

That's good to know Gary, I do like these washes - very user friendly.

I know what you mean by the fun factor, it is a lot of fun to mess these armour builds up. It's funny really, I'm not a fan of weathered aircraft models but armour doesn't tend to look right to my eye if it's left clean.

Re: Airfix 1/35 Ferret

Ah, Hataka. I don’t know if we in the states see those as much. I can still buy Testors square bottle at my local art store and I do when I can. I don’t know very much about Hatska as I proved to you earlier. They just a basic water based acrylic Bruce, no different from any of the others. What I d...

Re: Tiger Tiger burning Bright... (Tamiya 1/35 Tiger I (Late)

Flory’s wash is a liquified clay? I should look that up. I’ve never used his products. The results are getting there I think you’re still removing excess? Indeed they are Bruce, water and clay and very easy to work with. I'm still a novice at all this really but I like the product. I am still remov...

Re: Airfix 1/35 Ferret

to borrow Kari’s phrase: Wonderful! I wish I could paint like that with acrylics… or are these enamels? Whenever I see the bright red pad I think Humbrol enamels. LOL! Thanks Bruce - It IS a humbrol cutting mat but no, the paints are Hataka Blue line. It's not my best bit of painting, but I'll hide...

Re: Airfix 1/35 Ferret

I've made some pretty good progress on the Ferret, I've finished painting the camouflage (my guess-ti-mate of Cypress camo) and I'm in the process of doing the detail painting. It's not my best work, but it'll do. https://medievalrocks454853129.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/img_0002.jpg C...

Re: Tiger Tiger burning Bright... (Tamiya 1/35 Tiger I (Late)

Making some progress on the Tiger.

The decals are on (all four of them) and I've covered the build in a mix of Flory's 'Dust' and 'Grime' washes. I'm just in the process of cleaning it off.
