Kinetic's 1/48 E-2 Hawkeye

This bleeping thing. :headbang: I shouldn't of pulled it out of the stash when I haven't completed a build since like February. I read a build review, and watched a build video before I even decided to it, and it didn't look bad. Wrong. The center wing section to the fuselage had huge gaps that I ne...

Re: Build order?

I guess I'm not the only one then, lol. I think it's been a good six months that I wasn't at the bench. So I attempted to go small and picked a Tamiya P-51 from the stash. Everything was great until I went to put paint on the thing. Was going for bare metal, and the black gloss coat just did not spr...

Build order?

Curious if anyone has a specific build order when working on a kit? I seem to be all over the place, and forget things....all the time. Perfect example was today. I was going to gloss coat the Hawkeye I was working on, and then paint the inside edges of the landing gear doors while it dried. Realize...

Re: Help with C-47 mission markings.

I wondered that, it almost looks like liters set up inside. It's hard to tell though. I don't know what else that pole would be for aside from liters. Unfortunately I may have to make a guess, and make it as accurate as I can. I've only got two pictures to by. The other one she is in flight, and it'...

Help with C-47 mission markings.

Been a while I know. The crappy weather is going to roll in soon, and I'm starting to look at what projects I may want to work on this "modeling season". Yes I have a season, lol. Wondering if anyone might have any idea what the mission markings on the side of my beloved Whiskey 7. I've se...

Whiskey 7's 80th Birhtday Bash!

I really should of posted this sooner, but it's been a pretty busy summer, and I'm a very scatter-brained person. On Saturday September 23rd we will be celebrating Whiskey 7's 80th Birthday. I was asked to be the event coordinator for the party. Which really all you have to do is say Whiskey 7, and ...

That was my exact first thought! :giggles: Maybe that is why I have so many hobbies, model building, sewing, photography. I do tend to get stressed out easily. :hmm:

Re: Would you rather pay more for better accuracy, or save some cash on a less accurate kit?

That is good to know, as I'm pretty sure the Fury jet I have in my stash is Hobby Boss. Part of my stash is hidden under the bed, and I don't dig around under there often, so I forget what I have.

Re: Would you rather pay more for better accuracy, or save some cash on a less accurate kit?

Hmmmm interesting question. I'd like to have an accurate kit but I don't want to pay a million dollars for it especially if it doesn't fit well. Case in point, Hobby Boss have some kits that are a little off accuracy wise (F-111, A-7). They look close enough to me and they have pretty decent fit. A...

Re: Would you rather pay more for better accuracy, or save some cash on a less accurate kit?

By nature, I'm frugal :lashed: , ok...ok...I'm a cheap bastard. But I'd much rather pay just a little more for an accurate kit. Here's a goid example. The Hasegawa 48th P-51D is a good kit. But....for just $10-$20 more you can get a Eduard kit which is much more accurate and fits good. Or for rough...
