Kitty Hawk 1/48 UH-1D Huey

April 1, 2021 through 12/31/2021 - Anything from the Vietnam Era, aircraft, helos, trucks, boats, tanks, artillery, figures, dioramas....if it walks, crawls, rolls, rattles, flies, hovers or goes "boom", it is in. Any scale.

Just a couple of issues I ran into during my (yet unfinished) build.

The alignment bars on the inside of the gear housing shown in the instructions doesn't exist on the parts.

But the exact positioning of the base plate of the rotor head is super important. There's a slight angle involved that leads to a slightly tilted rotor head.

The instructions also suggest molded details on the upper cockpit panel. Ridiculous. But for placing the PE you'd have to grind it down anyways so no loss for you.

Correct on all counts. Mine did however have the supports in the correct height for the transmission plate.

Okay then. So they seem to have revisited the parts. Not bad!

Gonna have to keep these key points in mind for mine when I get to it. Yes....the mast assy is tilted forward just a tad. Off to a good start here Lee!!
