Italeri B-26K, or A-26A tbpc

April 1, 2021 through 12/31/2021 - Anything from the Vietnam Era, aircraft, helos, trucks, boats, tanks, artillery, figures, dioramas....if it walks, crawls, rolls, rattles, flies, hovers or goes "boom", it is in. Any scale.

I can see all the images, and what a fantastic looking model this is going to be! I should get me one as I only have the WWII version built. I will only build mine OOB though; I can't afford to get all these extras....

I kinda backed up and restarted on this one, as I found that the interior should be black, which I hate. I got a CMK interior set and removed the Italeri parts which are not correct for a Viet Nam era Invader, it includes the On Mark dual controls and full width instrument panel. I lightly oversprayed the green interior with flat black, next I will do a clear coat and do some highlighting. The CMK set seems to fit pretty well, although the fit of the resin panel part needed some work.

A little more work on the A-26, a gloss coat followed by some wear and highlights from using a Prismacolor silver pencil. Some Aizu .7 mm tape was painted dark earth and stuck to the seats, then a flat coat was applied over everything but the PE instrument panel. Yeah, I know, it's black. I hate black interiors. Getting in an airplane with a black interior is a little too much like crawling in a cheap casket, in my opinion.

No pictures, but I put filler in about 8 areas on this one today. None of the inserts fit very well, there are two where the remote turrets were on earlier versions, and the nose didn't quite fit either.
