Zoukei Mura F-4E Phantom II

April 1, 2021 through 12/31/2021 - Anything from the Vietnam Era, aircraft, helos, trucks, boats, tanks, artillery, figures, dioramas....if it walks, crawls, rolls, rattles, flies, hovers or goes "boom", it is in. Any scale.

Zoukei Mura F-4E Phantom II

Post by Floki »

Time to jump into this build! I got about as far as I can on her this weekend. Saturday night I realized that I didn't have any Tamiya Dark Sea Grey, the LHS is closed Sunday and Monday so I will be going Tuesday (hopefully if I wake up in time) Here is the cockpit so far, It really builds up nice and solid.

So far my only gripe with this kit is no belts, not molded onto the seat, no decals, no PE. As much effort that ZM put into this kit I don't understand why they just completely bailed on seatbelts. Honestly if they was decals I wouldn't have used them but at least they would of had a option for people to use. I ordered some HGW cloth belts for this, I couldn't find any of the USAF version in the US only the Navy so I ordered from the manufacturer all the way in the Czech Republic. Should be here in about three weeks.

What's in the box

Thanks for looking in!

Looks like ZM did the proper detailing in the cockpit. This should be good! :hmm:

Very cool! One of my biggest pet peeves is no seatbelts of any kind. The Skyray is like that too.

Looks excellent already! Way to go! I'll be following also.

Perhaps ZM didn't include seatbelts is because they knew about the large number of after market seatbelt choices and that almost all modelers that buy aircraft models invariably buy aftermarket seatbelts anyway. Given that, they probably figured "why bother?"

Makes sense to me.... :hmm:

Glad to have you following Duke! Not sure what they was thinking but If this is the only issue with the kit I will let it slide lol

Mike got any good photos of the exposed wiring on the back of the copilots IP?
