To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

The original aircraft started its life as a Beech 18 yes.
It now lives under a different name though.

Re: Trivia Quiz v 2.0
This is a tough one because there were many conversions and renames of the Beech 18/C-45/AT-11. This one has the single tail engineered by Pacific Airmotive and I'm pretty sure they were the only company to make that change. This airplane is at the Victoria BC museum and they call it a Westwind IV. Westwind was a name used by Hamilton Aviation. I've seen pictures of the same airplane called a Pacific Airmotive Tradewind. A number of companies did the PT-6 conversion. Beech incorporated many of the changes in later production including tricycle gear. The taller fuselage was introduced on the E-18.

Thats the other name i was looking for. The westwind IV. This particular aircraft was owned by the Canadian government as an official transport. It was modified to make it as comfortable as possible for politicians going from A to B. Some time ago it was sold to a private collector and then heavily damaged by fire. After restoration it was loaned to the Victoria BC Air museum as a permanent event. Im not sure on the order of events. But i know there was fire and a sale and all that in there somewhere lol.
Lyle got the origin aircraft right, but John got the second half right. Im not sure who to give this to now.

To be an airplane doesn't it have to fly?
Thanks,
