I have read all three of Adam Mako’s books - A Higher Call, Spearhead and Devotion. All great books to read. There are decal sets for both of those Corsairs from that book.

I had heard the basic gist of the story, but not the details, nor heard of this book. Now I’m looking forward to the movie. Hopefully the studio gets it right.

SteveSki... definitely read Spearhead. You are literally thrown into the action from the get go. A Higher Call is another good read. I’ve read all of Adam Makos’s books. I do believe he released a fourth book recently.

I've read A Highter Call a couple of times. Got the Kindle edition. Wish I had not. Anyway, same deal with Spearhead - got the Kindle edition. I had forgotten about these until this thread started. My dad was a driver/mechanic on tanks in North Africa, so i found Spearhead quite informative and understand a bit more why he asked to be taken off the front line.

I also bouthe a copy of Devotion . . . Can't get wrapped up in this one. I like his style, but in this one, I find his wandering back and forth between the ground forces and pilots confusing. I am guessing he will tie it together at the end. Still a good story of the struggles of Jesse, though.

I agree with Devotion. It did tend to stray a bit but as you said... it came together in the end.
