They are out of Miramar here in San Diego. The woman that was my DBAs husband is the CO of VMA-166. Always sad to hear.

I wonder if that is related to the one that diverted here yesterday with an in flight emergency. It landed at the local airport in the late afternoon and some sort of relief/repair crew was supposed to arrive today to get it out of here.

Very sad news. They've had a lot of accidents lately. A Super Hornet and a Seahawk also went down around the same time.
