I'd shine a strong light through the tail and mark the positions with a pencil, and then do a butt joint.... Well actually I'd probably say bollocks to it and leave them off!

Well…. your Phantom looks closer to the finish line than any that I have started in the past 15 years or so… At least yours has external painting started.

Is there any chance that you can hold up the area to a strong light at different angles to see where the area needing to be cut out is located, and you can do it externally?

I got the chance to use an LED pocket flashlight and I can see the spot where I was suppose to cut out. I’ve got two options.... mark and cut the hole or...
Cut the fin in half, use the light from underneath as a guide to glue the first fin. When I do the other side, I would mark two dots for front and back end and a line on tail rudder for the second fin.
I bought the razor saw tonight at Hobby Lobby. (And a set of metal paint stirrers with two small metal dishes and a bottle of Vallejo Oily Steel. )
