I'd shine a strong light through the tail and mark the positions with a pencil, and then do a butt joint.... :hmm: Well actually I'd probably say bollocks to it and leave them off!

Just because you guys can't spell armour properly! :giggles:

 No Phantoms either?! Boy, we need to get you straightened out double quick! :ballbat:
This is as far as I got once - with an old Matchbox kit, but yeah, it's a type that's largely passed me by. :bag:

Well…. your Phantom looks closer to the finish line than any that I have started in the past 15 years or so… At least yours has external painting started.

I'm with the others. Cut it in half and butt join it to the tail.

Ah. alas it is dead, having been lost alongside a few other WIP and half my collection when my shelving unit collapsed a few years back.

Yup. Looks like a little side trip to Hobby Lobby to pick up a razor saw tonight. :bored:

Is there any chance that you can hold up the area to a strong light at different angles to see where the area needing to be cut out is located, and you can do it externally?

I got the chance to use an LED pocket flashlight and I can see the spot where I was suppose to cut out. I’ve got two options.... mark and cut the hole or...

Cut the fin in half, use the light from underneath as a guide to glue the first fin. When I do the other side, I would mark two dots for front and back end and a line on tail rudder for the second fin.

I bought the razor saw tonight at Hobby Lobby. (And a set of metal paint stirrers with two small metal dishes and a bottle of Vallejo Oily Steel. :bag: )

I'd still cut it in half, but that's just me.

If you are going to cut the fin, it might be good to drill holes through both sides at each end first.
