They probably used aluminum lacquer. That was the common color for both pre war and postwar use as well.

Ok guys... this one is a wrap! Removed the mask around the engine and added all of the rest of bits and pieces.

Here's a preview while I post all of the finished pics over at the Completed Builds board...

That is just so bautiful. I love it.
The engine is a model wrapped in a model.

Thanks guys! It took a while but I finally got the Tempest done! It's funny but looking back on it... I procrastinated so much because of that engine. Not knowing how I was going to paint it or get it to fit.
