AMT F-16A 1/48

Post by LyleW »

Got this the other day. Pretty small parts count, kind of like a Fisher-Price kit for me....It has gone together pretty easily. Only "iffy" areas are around the vertical stabilizer - due to how they those to do it. Took just a small amount of filler to remedy.

Actually found a picture of the a/c that is represented on the decal sheet...

Cockpit detail is minimal, mostly decals.

Not terribly happy with the darker gray color, but I'm going to live with it. I didn't have the recommended color, so I mixed up one. It looked much darker on my test using a hairy stick.

On to the last of the fiddly bits and some detail paint dabbing.....

Stuart, I kept it under wraps until I saw haw it would go. Pretty basic kit, but I have a way sometimes.

Thanks, Mike!

Carlos, it is sort of snappy, huh?

It’s very snappy. :lashed: That kit is a rebox of the old ESCI kit, not bad for its age. If you want a Block 1, 5, or 10 F-16 in 1/48, it’s a good kit to choose.
