Hello All
This is the P51 I have been chatting about for my MCM group build.
I mixed these colours myself, and the camera makes them look a lot darker. The colours are really a lot brighter in reality.
Can't actually glue anything yet, I am waiting for the Quinta Studios cockpit parts.

Well done! Let's get busy slingin' some glue!

Excellent work so far! As for the darkness of the pics, it seems that your light source is weak. Perhaps adding more light or opening a window for sunlight could help brighten things up.
I like what I'm seeing already, here's hoping the Quinta Studios items arrive soon!

Thank you, the Quinta stuff is meant to arrive Nov 12 apparently. Thats... annoying.
As for light source, I have 2 overhead lamps plus my ceiling light and my window... I think I need to put some white light bulbs in my lamps, they are yellow ones at the moment. I will see if that helps

Great start Declan - that's not a bad go at mixing your own paints!
What camera have you got?

Before you carry on too much further, the cockpit floor of the P-51 was made from plywood, then painted with “anti skid”, the same stuff used on wing root walkways. Flat black paint mixed with silica sand to provide a gritty non slip surface.

Declan, you want light that is all the same color temperature for photos. 5000K (Kelvin) is good as it approximates daylight. Incandescent bulbs that are warm (toward yellow) will really confuse a digital camera if such colors are mixed with daylight, the camera won't find the proper white balance in mixed light.
