Thanks John & John.

John, it can be visible, as it has separate upper & lower cowling pieces. So visibility will depend on how well those parts fit. If they don’t fit well, it’s gonna be open, like on my stalled out out ICM Spitfire Mk. VII. ICM really goes to town on many of their 1/48 aircraft kits with a good engine, armament, and cockpit.

Looking great! I, too, do like ICM aircraft kits. Detailing is very good. Not spectacular as Eduard but pretty damn good.

Thanks Tom. I’d say that ICM is better than older Eduard kits plastic wise, and easily on par with their Weekend Edition stuff, if not better.

And it looks better than the Trumpeter MiG-3 that I built a few years back in terms of detail and molding quality.

I have a couple of ICM kits but I don't think I've ever built one.

I’ve started their Spitfire VII long ago, but it stalled out at about the halfway point. Have a few more different types in my stash.

I have a slew of the early production ICM Spitfire kits. When I built the Mk XVI it took about 3 kits to get enough good parts for one model. They were pushing the detail past their molding expertise back then, I think, lots of sink marks in bad places and inconsistent from kit to kit. But in the end the accuracy of the kit was great, and I bought them dirt cheap. The decals were useless in all of the kits back then, Propagteam I think. ICM has come a long way since then.

Thanks Kenny. I’ve got a bit more fine tuning to do on interior parts before I can close up the fuselage.

John, I have yet to come across bad parts with any of the ICM aircraft kits I’ve built or have in my stash.

The ones with faults were from the early days for ICM, Carlos. I built my Mk XVI in 2007.
