Your nephew is gonna love that one Carlos! And who wouldn't? That is one cool "quickie"! (and you know what we say, "there's always time for a quickie!" ) Well done sir! :shoutout:

That's a beautiful build and in only 80hrs
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Congratulations, Carlos! Well done work. I was thinking about what Stuart wrote, then re-read above him to catch your reference to “old school.” I still think everyone ought to once a year build with tube glue, paint brushes and tins of paint or in Stuart’s case the reverse (Get your air brush out, if possible, Stuart!). Cheers!

Thanks to all for your kind words!

Mark, it was indeed great to just build something as intended by the model company and not get bogged down in alterations. Even if I did a couple very small quick ones…
Stuart wrote:Fantastic build Carlos - that came out really well. Your nephew is going to love it!

I love how people keep referring to this as old school - I still build mine like that!!! :hmm:

I'd totally agree with that, the Ruskies had some nice looking aircraft in WWII and the winter scheme they had on them look really nice - especially with the contrasting red stars.
Stuart, there is certainly something to be said for that style of building! It actually leads to finishing something! Ive only built a few Russian WWII aircraft, and none in winter camo, so that is something I need to do.

Kari, the Russians did have some good looking camo. And with no upper wing markings I bet it was fairly effective in flight.

Not perfect, but good enough.

And it sure wasn’t 80 hours at the bench.

The only airbrushing done was for the gloss coat before decals and the flat coat afterwards. All colors were applied with good old brushes.

I dont know about the tube glue part, but I sure don’t mind doing the hand brushing part.

Thanks again to all of you for the kind feedback.

Super clean Stik. Once I get set up again I'm going to build the 109 I bought off Lyle.

Pray for me...

You aircraft guys have a super clean style I'm just digging.
Now that we know that.... What have we learned?...

Thank you Bob. This build is so clean compared to my usual style. Next one will look more appropriately used. But if you like clean aircraft, you might want to think about building some racer planes or aerobatic team types. Those are like autos with their super clean shiny finishes.
