It is what I have used since I first started the hobby. I've always used their enamels. I have a few of their acrylics, as well as a few of Tamiya's, but they seem to be hit or miss with me. Sometimes they'll work great, and other times they don't. I have no idea why either, I thin to the same ratio, same airbrush, etc. The MM enamels always worked great for me. So I'm not looking forward to making the switch to something else. I refuse to pay a ridiculous amount for any left over bottles floating around on eBay too.Duke Maddog wrote:I agree about Model Master. I love Model Master paints. Sad to hear Rustoleum decided to discontinue them.

I was a MM enamel user until it got to be a problem finding them. I've been switching over to the AK Real color lacquer paints. Amazing paint and they dry so much quicker then enamel. Good color selection too

I like Mr Color with their leveling thinner and Tamiya. I've had the most success with them.
Thanks,

I've switched over to AK Real colors as well. Pretty much all I use now.tempestjohnny wrote:I was a MM enamel user until it got to be a problem finding them. Beautiful build! More evidence showing that these old Revell kits can be made to look just as nice as newer tool kits.

Floki, Thank you! They just need a little extra TLC, lol. I suppose it all depends on how much effort you want to put in to it. For me it's usually how much the kit costs. Sometimes I would rather fight the kit a bit, and put in the extra effort, rather than spend the extra cash on an easier kit. You also won't learn anything from a kit that practically puts itself together. I've learned different techniques to deal with issues from the older/less expensive kits.

Now that is a superb model building philosophy. Much like “smooth waters do not make a good sailor”.

That's truly a lovely result from that old kit! And typical of many Monogram (Mono-Rev) kits, it provides a great canvas upon which a talented modeler can do so much more, and obviously the case here. Well done for sure!
I've had that same kit on the study shelves for many years now keeping company with the 1/48 Monogram B-26 Marauder and the 1/48 AMT A-20. I've long had a crazy idea to build them all somewhat simultaneously, in a sort of "assembly line" approach regarding so much of their airframes. It would be so cool having those three WWII "twins" together..but then,I sober up and realize that still waters do run deep and perhaps that's a bit ambitious.
Again, great work Keyda! I enjoyed it a lot!
