Airfix 1/72 FW190A-8

Post by Stuart »

So this is my little Airfix FW190A-8 - Painted with Hataka and Humbrol acrylics with an AM swastika and brass gun barrels. The washes were Citadel and Flory Models 'Grime'. I experimented using a wet palette on this one, to help keep the paint thin and remove brush marks due to drying paint. I also used it to mix in some other colours whilst painting it to give some tonal variation. It worked out okay.

Overall I'm pleased with it - it's not perfect but I learnt a few things building it that I hope to take to the next one.

Cheers!

Amazing what you do with a hairy stick. Paint looks good. Mottling looks good. Weathering looks good

Good looking Butcher Bird Stuart! :shoutout: That sure looks war worn.

I really like this, everything you did with the colors is quite on point! The wash is not too much, and that is very, very, very well judged by you at scale. Really exemplary work, Stuart. Bravo.

Well done, Stuart. The view out that window looks like the backdrop for a Nicholas Trudgeon print hanging on one of my walls.
