Revell's 1/48 B-25 Mitchell "Jaunty Jo"

Post by keyda81 »

Completed this back in February. The 2nd time I've done this kit. Having started with modeling several years ago, I've since improved, and a lot of my previous builds were not up to snuff anymore. So they land up taking a flight to the recycle bin, and I get another kit. This one is much better than the first, not without it's flaws though. I typically glue "glass" pieces in place temporarily before painting, and then remove after painting, and applying decals, so I can finish whatever I need to inside. Which is what I did with the nose piece, so I didn't have to try and mask off guns. Well I wasn't paying attention and realized after I had already dipped the nose art decal in water, that it was supposed to be partially on the upper nose glass. So I had to position it down farther. :headslap: Oh well.

Great looking Air Apache build. What OD and Neutral Gray paints did you use on this one?

Brilliant job! I wouldn't have been able to tell the nose art was out of place. It looks perfectly placed as it is now! Way to go!

That’s a beauty! Ditto on what has been said redrafting the nose art.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Still using Model Master until my stash runs out. :scream: I used some faded OD as well, and mottled it in over top. Still playing around with different techniques, and finding what I like.

Thanks everyone!

I agree about Model Master. :scream: I just acquired a truckload of Humbrols so I'm working to transition to them.
