2015 Mazda Miata

Post by Paul »

My first eye surgery went off with out a hitch but I had to remove the right lens in my glasses so I can watch TV and do things with both eyes open. My second surgery is this coming Monday and I can hardly wait.

In the meanwhile, since I have not done any modeling for the past two months, I've been working on this 24 scale Tamiya Miata coupe for a friend who has the 1/1 scale one in his garage. I really like these curb side kits because hardly any fuss in their construction. I started it yesterday evening and am almost done with the chassis. The paints are a mix of Tamiya, Gunze and Xtreem Metal. The final finish is going to be gloss black. I'll really have to pay attention with that as I'll be using Mr. Paint gloss black. We will see how it goes.

Good news, indeed! Car looks great!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Paul, I'm glad you came through the surgery so well. Nice work so far on that car, your friend is gonna love it!

Thanks y'all. After a couple of coats of X-1 and color sanding each coat. I applied a tack base coat then about four wet coats. I let that set up for a few hours then attacked it with X-22. Here is how it looks so far.

In a couple of days Ill rub it out and polish it some. Then I can finish it and send it on it's way.
