The word Iconic is so overused today it seems to have lost all meaning for me. However, in this case I feel it's justified. The Ghostbusters Ecto 1 is truly a world recognized automobile. You can go to most places on the globe and show this car and they will know what it is. This is the old AMT kit. I struggled with it a bit when i first built it. I believe I built this a year or so after it was released so it has been built a long time. I have the reissue and may build that one as a super detailed model. They make the proton packs and all the extra gear as resin pieces and the figures are also available. it would be nice to do it all up and display it all together. But for now this one will have to do. The antennae and mirror fell of of course. Once I am all settled in ill clean it and put them on properly.

That is neat!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Very nice! I've seen that kit at Hobby Lobby and have always wanted to build it. Maybe one day.

Only a few cars rise to this level of “iconic” in pop culture worldwide: Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am, K.I.T.T from Knight Rider, ZZ Top’s Eliminator, and perhaps a half dozen more. But your designation of this one as being iconic is dead on target. Very nicely done Bob!

Thanks all. This is truly one of my favorite models ever. It just has IT.

Now go build the Back to the Future DeLorean. Unless you already had.

Magnificent work Tom! I always loved that car too. I might even have it in the stash somewhere; I sure do want to built it someday.
