mustang1989 wrote:WOW!!! Thanks so much Mark. Hey man, honestly anybody that's half decent with an airbrush can do this. It took me some time (3 years) but I finally figured out the method. I'm too hard headed to take anybody's dang advice but I came up with my own method for doing it.
You are far too modest. It is way more than just your airbrushing skills.

Thanks for the votes of confidence guys. I took great pains to get to this point but I guess what I'm trying to say is that I can explain to you how to do it without going through what I did.

I understand. I see some comparatively “new” modelers at IPMS or AMPS who started fairly recently, gorged themselves on You Tube “how to” modeling videos, and within a few years are turning out builds with results that took me decades to reach. But at the same time, the do gripe, moan, and give up on older kits that present speed bumps and obstacles that are second nature and long ago learned skills for us older builders who cut their modeling teeth upon....

I've seen what you're talking about in person. I see a lot of folks of this new generation just throw their hands up in the air at the first sign of trouble because there are no "how to" videos to help them out with a problem they are encountering rather than having enough patience to figure it out and then work through it.

I'm with you all on that - I'd much rather work things out for myself rather than have someone tell me how to do it. Besides, my attention span isn't long enough for most 'how-to' videos.

That is a superb looking Pick-up, the finish you've achieved is excellent
