Monogram California Street 'Vette

Post by BlackSheep214 »

This kit I wanted to finish off between two projects. I acquired this kit from a batch of car model kits I bought from Brent (Handiable) back in the fall of 2020. My sister did this kit when we were kids and now I've got the shot of doing it myself. I texted her last night if she remembered it and yes she did. She actually thought it was her model kit. :giggles:

Anyway, this particular Corvette is a model of Tom Daniel personal Corvette - hence Tom Daniel Design kits.

The box cover:

The finished build. I painted it using Createx Pearlized Orange. It looks pretty damn close to the real Corvette belonging to Tom Daniel.

Cool build.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Not sure but with the location of the headlights behind the grill, I'm guessing 1968 Corvette.

Lucky you. The price of these has gotten so outrageous that many of us have simply given up on ever getting one.

Well built BTW. Nice paint.
Now that we know that.... What have we learned?...

Great looking Vette. It started out as a 1970. Totally customized. Filled in headlight doors new tail lights and all those louvers

I was close.... by 3 years. LOL! There is another Monogram Corvette kit I’d love to get I did when I was in my early teens.it was yellow and I think it was called Corvette SS or something like that. The other is the old MPC kit Vette van. I do know it was a brown Vette on the box cover.
